Go from feeling fearful, to grounded. Ready to support women who ask you to witness their births outside the system.

An intimate 8 week program for Doulas and Birthkeepers beginning
Thursday September 10th 2026

A heart-felt, group container that allows you to finally get honest about and move through your freebirth fears, giving you real tools to serve women choosing this autonomous birth experience.

This program is right for you if:

  • You’re serving women in the birth space - either now or in the future

  • You’re passionate about a woman’s right to make autonomous decisions about her birth, including her option to freebirth

  • You want to feel ready to say YES to women who want your support outside the system, but you’re struggling to move past your fears about it

  • You passionately believe that women’s bodies are made to birth, but you can’t help feeling fear about what to do if a
    birth emergency happens

  • You’re struggling to know where to start with having the hard and important conservations with women as they prepare for their births outside the system

  • You want to feel clear on how to protect yourself and set boundaries, without compromising on developing mutual trust and being a woman’s utter cheerleader

  • You want your presence in the birth space to only add love and calm (not disturbance) to the experience your client has been dreaming of

This program will stop you feeling on-edge in the freebirth space, so that you can actually feel good about saying yes to women and sink into the joy and magic of witnessing birth undisturbed.

What women are saying:

Working with Felicity was the best decision I made, she is truly a birth wise woman, the way she held space, invited us to reflect and go deeper was honestly transformational for me.

The insight I have learned in this course have enhanced not only the experience I offer to my clients but the shift in my own beliefs and confidence has been incredible. I gained a completely new perspective on what it means to support women in this rite of passage, but what I wasn’t expecting was how much it unearthed how I felt about my own birth experience which I am glad to say I’m now working through.

I would recommend this programme to anyone who is interested in supporting freebirth but has some residual fears/limiting beliefs or worries of what that entails. If you’re on the fence about doing the course, DO IT! You won’t regret it. Thank you Felicity again for all your support, you’re amazing.”

“Felicity is the most incredible active listener I’ve come across. The course is small enough for open, honest discussions where you can address where you’re at, whether it’s fears, concerns or wanting more knowledge.

If fear is holding you back from offering freebirth, Felicity’s course addresses fear of media, the law, unexpected emergencies with open, honest dialogue, and practical information to help work through those fears and concerns. She always takes us back to having these conversations with the woman we’re supporting.

Before taking the course, I didn’t feel I would know how effectively I could support a woman wanting to freebirth, especially if something went wrong and the knock-on implications. Now I feel excited and ready to support a woman who is wanting to explore freebirth.”

"Shortly after the program, I had my first experience talking about unexpected birth scenarios with my freebirth client and it bought up some tricky conversations.
At first, they (particularly the partner) felt discomfort at the challenging topics raised. But after the session, they gave me some lovely feedback and thanked me for my grace as they as a couple worked through these important questions and continue to do so.

Thank you Felicity for providing a safe supportive space where we could share and be vulnerable. You knowledge and wisdom helped me discover my boundaries and feel more confident in being able to offer freebirth support and well as in working with women in the system.

I would recommend this to anyone wanting to feel more confident supporting women who want to freebirth or have a homebirth.”

“I felt really nervous before this course, because I'd only been at one freebirth and knew I didn't have much knowledge. Felicity was so easy to talk to and ask questions of and it was incredible meeting and learning with such beautiful women with similar ideas and passions.
After the course I felt so motivated and knowledgeable, I felt so much more confident and happy to be with someone if they were choosing freebirth.”

“I had felt naturally drawn to support families planning a freebirth but was struggling to navigate some of my own internal anxieties. By the end of the program, I felt a sense of peace.

I hadn’t expected that I would gain so much clarity in the non-negotiables for me as a Doula. As well as feeling confident in saying yes to families, I also feel really confident in saying no to the people who aren’t a match for what I believe I can offer. This feels really liberating!

I would recommend this program to any Doula, Birth worker, Birth keeper who feels drawn to support freebirths but not only that: I’d also recommend it to people who have reservations about supporting freebirth and find these topics challenging. Feeling skilled at holding space for the full range of what it looks like to ‘do something differently’ in birth has felt very empowering!

I’m really looking forward to the work I’m called to do in 2026!”

“I knew that I wanted to support women choosing freebirth, but I was a bit lost in what I could offer and how to talk to those women about all the elements to this decision. I also had some fears about emergencies happening. Running through all of the birth first aid information felt like a huge relief and was undeniably valuable. I feel a lot more confident and actually excited to offer support to the women who want to work with me in this way.

I am so happy I attended the program and appreciate how incredibly generous Felicity was with her time, knowledge and experience to support us.”

“My very real fears about the legal consequences of supporting freebirth meant that in the past, if women were asking me for support in their freebirths,
I struggled to articulate my role clearly and found myself being very black-and-white. I think that rigidity made it hard for women to really understand how we could still work together in the birth space, particularly when it came to navigating fear, uncertainty, or emergencies.

By the end of the program, I felt far more grounded and at ease. Gaining a clearer understanding of women’s rights, the legal landscape, and my scope of support helped me feel much more comfortable with what I could and couldn’t do in a freebirth setting. I now feel more confident having nuanced, calm conversations with women, and I have a clearer sense of how I can support them in a way that is both empowering and aligned.”

“One of my biggest unexpected gains from this program was learning about true emergency scenarios in freebirth and how I could support in those moments without performing medical procedures. Understanding how to offer calm, practical, life-saving support (such as first-aid) while staying within my scope was incredibly empowering. Even if I never need to use that knowledge, simply understanding what real emergencies can look like has reduced a lot of my fear.

I would recommend this program to anyone who feels drawn to supporting women outside the system but feels unsure, fearful, or unclear about what that support could look like in practice. Especially for those who sense, deep down, that this work may be something they could love but that need guidance, clarity, and reassurance to step into it with confidence.”

MEET FELICITY

Felicity is a mother, former midwife and experienced birthkeeper outside of the medical system. Her work with women in birth spans 13 years, where she went from clinically managing the birth process as a medical professional, to supporting women wanting to be lovingly witnessed by a birth-wise woman who would support them to birth at home, on their terms.

Believing that talented birth workers deserved to feel easeful and confident when speaking about freebirth and feeling grounded in the in-person freebirth space, Felicity set out to provide support that would create tangible shifts for women facing their freebirth fears and has created impactful and heart-felt mentorship offerings for women and birth workers all over the globe.

Felicity also hosts the popular Sovereign Pregnancy Podcast, where pregnant women from all walks of life share their personal and transformative experiences of stepping away from the routine practices of the medical system, as well as returning to share their freebirth stories, no matter how they unfold.

After stepping into the world of supporting birth outside the system, despite my palpable passion and belief in women’s birthing abilities, I soon realised that years of witnessing medically managed birth, living in a culture of blame and liability, meant my unexplored, deep-seeded fears were leaching into my work with women - EVEN THOUGH I was already supporting freebirths regularly.

I finally committed to the loving support required to explore and move through my own fears, so that the support I gave women became more grounded, effective and rooted in integrity and understanding.

As the years in this work went on and the maternity system continued to become increasingly restrictive, more and more talented Doulas and Birthkeepers were expressing a deep desire to be able to support women choosing freebirth, but found themselves held back by their fears. Fears created by a medical culture of blame, drama-driven management of birth emergencies and lack of personalised, relatable birthworker mentors experienced in this work.

The thing I know from working with women outside the system,
is that supporting freebirth does not have to feel this heavy.

I believe that invaluable holistic birth workers like you deserve to feel easeful and confident when preparing your clients for their option to freebirth and feel excited about witnessing women in their autonomous birth space.

This is why I am so excited to have created this program! I want to support you to create tangible shifts in your freebirth fears, to share with you my first-hand experience and tools to help you serve women with a sense of peace and self-belief.

This work CAN feel easeful. You CAN have conversations with women that prepare them fully, build trust and also bring you a sense of calm. Most importantly, it IS possible to shift from a place of hyper-vigilance to simply sinking into the magic of witnessing birth undisturbed, all while supporting a woman to stay at the centre of her decision making and experience.

Much like the birthing women you serve, you deserve support when diving into new and expansive work. You don’t have to figure this out alone.

What will the ‘Support Freebirth Without Fear’ program look like?

The 8 week live program will be held weekly, with a total of seven 90-minute live sessions. Each session will be a discussion and reflective space for unpacking a specific fear that is crucial to serving women birthing outside the system. The sessions have been designed so that you leave each one with a tangible feeling of relief and clarity, as well as practical tools to support your work and deeper fear processing in the future.

There will be time to ask questions in every session, as well as lifetime access* to recorded practices each week lead by Somatic Practitioner and Birthworker, Fiona Sears of Ether and Bone.

Week 1 - Connection and orientation week

An opportunity to connect with the fellow women in the program, to share where you’re at and where you hope to experience shifts in this work. To discuss housekeeping and get the lay of the land for the weeks ahead.

Week 2 - The fear of saying it outloud

The harsh inner-critic and judgment from others in the birth world stops most Doulas and Birthworkers from being able to be vulnerable and open up about fears they have about this unique work. In a judgement free circle, we will take the opportunity to name out-loud our deepest fears about supporting freebirth to get to the route of what’s holding us back. We will sink into being with a group of women who not only understand our fears but have been longing to get them off their chests too. This sessions honours the courage and strength it takes to be vulnerable with our peers, so that the exploration can begin.

This sharing will be followed by a LIVE somatic release practice by Fiona Sears.

Week 3 - The fear of getting in trouble - LIVE Workshop

Society at large, does not culturally approve of or condone the choice to freebirth. This creates insidious fears within Birthworkers that they too are disapproved of and will be punished for the support they give women. How much of this is perception and how much is truth? What does “getting in trouble” actually mean and look like for you in this work? How do you protect yourself and set boundaries, whilst not compromising on cultivating trust between you and your client? What personal stories about stepping out of line are you holding onto and crucially, how can you tend to these so they don’t disturb the birth processes of the women you’re supporting.

Week 4 - The fear of birth emergencies (part 1)

Doulas and Birthworkers often get lost in what feels like complex and detailed teachings on how to support birth emergencies if they happen. It creates feelings of overwhelm and fear about not having medical professionals present. But the way you - a non-medical person - can support a woman with first aid in these situations is shockingly simple. This session covers the practical steps that you can take to support a mother and baby whilst help is on the way or even better - support a mother to resolve issues at home BEFORE it even becomes an emergency. This week will contain lifetime access* to recorded sessions about the first aid support of: Large Blood Loss, Placental Abruption, Uterine Rupture, Cord Prolapse, as well as the live session for deeper exploration and questions.

* life of business

Week 5 - The fear of birth emergencies (part 2)

This week will contain lifetime access* recorded session about first aid support of; Shoulder Dystocia, Supporting Baby’s First Breaths. You will leave these two weeks feeling calmer and more competent on how to be helpful in a birth emergency.

This week will also include bonus content on non-emergent but nuanced situations in freebirth:
- Meconium in freebirth: the birth worker’s role
- Hydration and Bladder care: what the natural birth movement gets wrong
- Long labours in freebirth
- If a woman wants to listen to her baby’s heart rate in freebirth

Have you been present at a birth emergency outside the system or know someone who has? In this week’s live call we will be discussing and unpacking real-life scenarios of emergencies at freebirths, to better understand physiology, the role of the non-medical birth worker and how different situations can be approached.

Week 6 - The fear of the unexpected outcomes

You want to be able to continue giving a woman incredible support during her motherhood journey, even if the unexpected happens. Whether that’s freebirth transfer to hospital, an unwell mother or baby postnatally, trauma processing after freebirth, social services referrals or the worst of all outcomes. You will leave this session with knowledge of how to have loving, judgement free, important conversations with women in pregnancy about preparation for all possibilities. You will feel less fear about how you can offer continued, grounded, helpful and compassionate support to women in these circumstance.

Week 7 - NEW SESSION - Breech birth in freebirth

This week we share our experiences, existing knowledge about a unique scenario - a scenario that can mean emergency for one woman, and a variation of normal for another. Together we will watch multiple examples of breech birth and disecet and consider them together in the context of freebirth. You will walk away feeling more clarity and calm about what conversations to have with women in pregnancy about the nuance of breech, and how to support women in various freebirth breech scenarios. Please note this is not a breech birth skills training.

Week 8 - Reflective practice

A chance to see how far you’ve come and how much your fears have shifted. A chance to look together to your future in this work and tools you have gained to tend to your fears in a sustainable and effective way, allowing you to serve your clients who choose an autonomous birth exactly how you love and want to.

Also includes:

  • Private Telegram group for connection and questions outside of the live sessions, open for 4 months after the course.

  • Replays of live sessions each week for catch up
